1957 CHEVY 4 DOOR HARDTOP
RUNS AND DRIVES GREAT....Very nice older restoration that was kept inside since being finished in the late 80s. It has a 283 V-8 w/2 spd. POWERGLIDE Automatic transmission. Bright red top to bottom w/newer red and black original style cloth and vinyl interior w/nice original style black carpet. Newer original style red & black door panels and red vinyl headliner. Everything works inside and out on the car----horn, blinkers, lights- interior & exterior, heater & heater fan, cig. lighter, factory gauges, but the radio & clock are not working. All glass is good and all 4 windows roll up & down w/ease...And the window felts/seals/sweeps/channels are in good condition. The vent windows crank in & out easily. All lights inside & out work like they did in 57. The wiper motor was updated to a later model style electric...maybe 58-60 style...& the optional foot operated windshield washer system is completly intact. I
The exterior bright work is in great condition. The exterior paint is very nice and it looks like a new car at a few steps back...the very top flatter surface of the roof & decklid paint is good but it does not have the luster/shine that the rest of the body has. The tires are Coker bias ply wide whites w/plenty of tread left and the red rims are the original size & style w/57 Chevy full caps. The fender skirts add a big touch of nostalgia to this iconic Chevrolet masterpiece. The front and rear bumpers are very nice and both sport the optional bumper guards. Dual exhaust w/chrome tips add a nice touch to both rear corners of the car. The trunk deck-lid lower edge is trimmed w/the rarely seen 3" wide fluted gold anodized trim that runs from side to side. The trunk area looks like 1957 just happened, complete w/new looking black rubber mat & wide white wall spare w/hubcap sitting in the spare tire position.
There was an area of rust in the front passenger side that was patched with metal, and the 3 body mounts on the passenger side are rusted out at the upper tips up against the floor - but the floor & everything else around those mounts are solid.
