NOW WRECKED---NOW WRECKED---NOW WRECKED--JUST BACK FROM MECHANIC'S SHOP WITH MAJOR SIDE AND TOP DAMAGE ACCIDENTALLY CAUSED BY THE MECHANIC WHILE ON A TEST DRIVE---STILL RUNS AND DRIVES FINE---MAJOR PRICE REDUCTION---SAVE $$$ ----FIX IT YOURSELF AND SAVE BIG $$$---GREAT CANDIDATE FOR A PARADE CONVERTIBLE !!! ----
1966 CHEVY CAPRICE 2-DR. HDTP.****WE DROVE IT IN FROM 150 MILES AWAY WITHOUT A HITCH PRIOR TO ITS GETTING WRECKED. IT HAS A LATE MODEL 350/350 COMBO THAT PERFORMED FLAWLESSLY DURING THE TRIP. P.S. AND THE CAR NEVER HAD A/C---BUT THE HEATER AND FAN WORK AS THEY SHOULD. THE GAS GAUGE WORKS ACCURATELY AND THE IDIOT LIGHTS COME ON AND GO OFF W/IN A FEW SECONDS AFTER STARTING THE CAR. THE WIPERS ALSO WORK AS DO THE INTERIOR DOME LIGHTS. IT ALSO HAS SOLID DUAL EXHAUST EXITING STRAIGHT OUT THE BACK AND UNDER THE BUMPER. NICE STRAIGHT GRILLE PIECES AND CHROME BUMPERS ARE STRAIGHT AND SHINY. IT DOES HAVE A BIAS PLY SPARE MOUNTED IN THE ORIGINAL SPOT AND THERE IS AN ORIGINAL STYLE BUMPER JACK ALSO MOUNTED IN ITS ORIGINAL POSITION (W/THE LITTLE SPRING STILL HOLDING IN ITS BRACKET) IN THERE W/IT.
THIS '66 WAS A 20 FOOTER DRESSED IN A MATTE/SATIN FINISH WHITE PAINT----IT'S NOT A HIGH-DOLLAR PAINT JOB, BUT IT SHOWS WELL AT A FEW PACES BACK (THE ORIGINAL COLOR WAS TURQUOISE). THE INTERIOR IS COMPLETE AND AGAIN DON'T LOOK TOO CLOSE AND IT SHOWS WELL---THE TURQUOISE HEAD LINER IS GOOD W/NO RIPS OR HOLES AND THE SUN VISORS ARE NICE. THE SEATS AND DOOR PANELS ARE IN LIKE CONDITION AND AGAIN THEY HAVE THAT AT FIRST GLANCE THEY LOOK GREAT LOOK AND DITTO FOR THE CARPET. THE LEFT SIDE WINDOWS ROLL UP AND DOWN W/EASE W/ONE HAND (YES EVEN THE QTR. WINDOW) AND THE VENT WINDOWS EASILY CRANK OPEN AND SHUT AS THEY SHOULD. THE WHEEL AND TIRE COMBO CONSISTS OF NEW 7" AND 8" CHROME 'CRAGAR S/S' WHEELS W/14's ON THE FRONT AND 15's ON THE BACK---BOTH ARE DEEP DISHED AND HAVE A POSITIVE OFFSET AND THE TIRES HAVE 60% PLUS NICE EVEN WORN TREAD REMAINING. I HAD IT ON THE 'LIFT' TO INSPECT THE UNDERSIDE/FLOOR PANS AND IT IS EXCEPTIONALLY GOOD EXCEPT FOR AN AREA IN THE PASSENGER FRONT FLOORBOARD (NEAR THE TOE BOARD). THE TRUNK PAN (VIEWING IT FROM THE TOPSIDE) IS IN GOOD SHAPE FROM WHAT I COULD SEE W/O PULLING UP THE OLD FULL TRUNK MAT--(IT WAS STUCK DOWN IN MOST PLACES)---AND IT HAD MOST OF THE ORIGINAL TRUNK CARDBOARD STILL IN PLACE--WARPED IN PLACES BUT ALL THERE----FROM THE UNDERSIDE THE TRUNK PAN REVEALS A RUSTY/SCALY PATCH JUST IN FRONT OF THE GAS TANK (YOU CAN'T SEE INSIDE THE TRUNK THROUGH THE RUSTED AREA---IT'S JUST SCALY RUST, ABOUT A 12"x12" AREA). THE KEYS EASILY WORK THE LOCKS IN THE TRUNK/IGN/DOOR-(PASS)/GLOVE BOX. ALL LIGHTS SEEM TO WORK AS DO THE BLINKERS--THEY STILL CANCEL AS THEY SHOULD. THE KICK PANEL 'FRESH AIR VENTS' OPEN AND CLOSE EASILY W/THEIR UNDER THE DASH KNOBS. ALL IN ALL THIS WAS A NICE CRUISER AND IT IS READY FOR YOUR RIGHT SIDE BODY/ROOF REPAIRS. AND THE GREAT THING IS YOU CAN DRIVE IT TO THE REPAIR FACILITY.
